It may come as a surprise to you but the diesel engine was initially designed to run on oil from peanuts. The advantage of using vegetable oils include being renewable and also being carbon neutral. biodiesel carsLet us look at the inside make up of a biodiesel conversion. Your vegetable oil will be stored in a tank that is usually located in the trunk of the car. The oil flows through a pair of filters to capture and particules that may block the cars engine system. After the filters the biodiesel oil makes its way via a tube to the engine, and then through an aluminium tube that is inside the cooling hose. This tube will go to the rear of the car at the same time it heats up the oil.

The biodiesel will then flow through the fuel selector valve which has a flip swith inside the car to control it. The selector is there to allow you to select between diesel or vegetable oil. As far as supply for your oil you can visit dumpsters behind restuarants and use a manual pump to pump the oil into your plastic containers which you can then store in the trunk of the car. Before you pour your oil into the tank in the back it is recommended that you filter it, so that you do not have to constantly change the filters between the tank and the engine.

When you change your vegetable oil filters, you should fill them with diesel oil before they are installed into your car. Why do you use diesel? Well this will get rid of the air pockets faster than if you used biodiesel. If you do not remove the air and it builds up in your engine system, you may have difficulties when it comes to starting up your car.

Also when you have more oil in your storage, then it is recommended that you keep this oil heated. This will force all the large particles to the bottom of your plastic containers. If you leave in the cold regions of the world, it is recommended that you keep a little diesel in the origional tank of the car. This will help you start your car in cold conditions when vegetable oil does not respond. Some experts have recommended that you just keep diesel all the time in your car this will help you prolong the life of your engine.
